I definitely saw some dogs in the grounds when I went. I've checked the website and this is the official policy - "Assistance dogs are welcome and can accompany visitors throughout all areas of the site. Other dogs are welcomed within the gardens. Water bowls are available for dogs." Hope that's helpful.
Planning a 2 day visit to area which will include here. Is 2 hours a reasonable amount to see exhibition and wander around the garden.
