Trimble is a city in southwestern Clinton County, Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area within the United States. The population was 573 at the 2020 census. Trimble was named after J. M. Trimble, a railroad official. The city was originally called Carpenter's Store; the town site was platted and present name adopted when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office called Carpenters Store was established in 1858, and the name was changed to Trimble in 1899.
