One week of Alabama football spring practice is in the books. And the Crimson Tide is now on a break, which leaves more than a week to think about these observations of the team so far.

Alabama is young at DB this spring, with Malachi Moore off to the NFL, while Keon Sabb and Domani Jackson are both out with injuries. Their absence has opened the door for younger players like Dijon Lee Jr. to get more reps but has also made Calhoun more visible.

The good: Alabama has starters seemingly set in stone with LT Overton and Kelby Collins battling for snaps on the outside at Bandit, and Tim Keenan III and James Smith taking charge on the inside. These four have a chance to show much more pressure than the Crimson Tide had in 2024, recording 25 sacks in 13 games — tied for third-worst in the SEC.
