A Rhode Island man convicted of murder more than 40 years ago is making another appeal for parole. James Hughes III is serving a life sentence for the 1982 murder of Howard “Zeke” Harris at his furniture store in North Kingstown.

(WJAR) — The family of a murder victim once again asked a parole board to keep a convicted killer behind bars. James Hughes III again asked to be set free on Monday. Hughes was denied parole. The family of his victim, Howard "Zeke" Harris, again reminded the board about the brutal crime that took his life.

Hannah Cotter spoke with the victim's family, who tell her they're relieved James Hughes III will stay behind bars.
