John Feinstein, one of the country’s foremost sports writers and the author of numerous bestselling books, has died unexpectedly, according to his brother, Robert Feinstein.

Well known sportswriter, highly regarded commentator, and best selling book author John Feinstein has died at the age of 68.

John Feinstein graduated from Duke University and was best known for his time at the Washington Post. During his career, he wrote over 40 books.

He had a long affiliation with The Washington Post and wrote books including “A Season on the Brink,” about Indiana University men’s basketball coach Bob Knight.
