With his team trailing archrival No. 8 Alabama by five with 10:52 remaining, Tigers guard/forward Chad Baker-Mazara was hit with a flagrant 2 foul after thrusting his forearm into the back of the head of Crimson Tide guard Chris Youngblood while fighting for position for a potential rebound.

After the NCAA’s decision to grant all former JUCO prospects another year of eligibility last December, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl confirmed that Chad Baker-Mazara can come back next season. Prior to playing at Auburn, Baker-Mazara played at Northwest Florida State College at the JUCO level.

For the second year in a row, Auburn basketball lost a marquee March matchup after Chad Baker-Mazara was ejected for committing an obviously dirty foul. The 25-year-old forward hit Alabama’s Chris Youngblood in the back of the head with his forearm while trying to gain position for a rebound.
