A Picture Format dialog box will appear. On the Picture tab, under Transparency, drag the Transparency slider or click the spin button to increase and decrease the transparency. Then click OK.
When putting together graphic designs or editing photos, opaque backgrounds on images can be a hindrance - so knowing how to make the background transparent in Photoshop is a useful trick.
