Aurora chasers are on high alert for possible geomagnetic storm conditions from March 4 to March 5. Northern lights possible at mid-latitudes.

Monday’s forecast calls for low-end aurora borealis activity expected to increase significantly by Tuesday night.

The northern lights may be visible as far south as New York and other parts of the northeast such as Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Minor geomagnetic storms could cause a brighter-than-usual northern lights display across the northern United States on Tuesday night.

Enhanced magnetic activity in Earth’s atmosphere has led to more aurora sightings further south than usual over the past year – including in the UK. And now we’re told the northern lights will be visible across the UK once again this month.
