Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced the appointment of Dennis King as Canada’s ambassador to Ireland, less than two weeks after King suddenly stepped down as P.E.I.'s premier.

King abruptly resigned as premier and Progressive Conservative leader last month, saying the decision was in the best interests of his family, the government and P.E.I. residents.
