Former Florida State star defensive end and Super Bowl LIX Champion Josh Sweat was regarded as one of the hottest free agents on the market and the best EDGE after his contract with the Philidelphia Eagles ended in the offseason.

That makes Sweat the Cardinals’ second-highest paid player after Kyler Murray. His average annual value of $19.1 million will rank 12th among all edge rushers. The 27-year-old Sweat was drafted in the fourth round in 2018 and emerged into a key player when Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon took over as the Philadelphia Eagles ’ defensive coordinator in 2021.
