Gov. Wes Moore and leaders in the Maryland General Assembly said Thursday they settled on a final budget framework to close a roughly $3.3 billion budget deficit.

The budget framework adds at least $500 million in spending cuts to Moore’s initial budget proposal announced in January.

Maryland lawmakers worked throughout the first half of the legislative session to close the gap by considering drastic cuts to core services and imposing new taxes.
