A Powerball player in Virginia fell short of the $20 million jackpot prize, but still won big, lottery officials said. John Sarwari won $50,000 in the Jan. 20 drawing and tripled it with a Power Play add on, the Virginia Lottery said in a March 14 news release.

The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing on Monday, March 10 are: 17, 40, 47, 50, 55 Powerball: 6 No one won the Powerball jackpot, Match 5 + Power Play $2 million prize or the Match 5 $1 million prize. The next drawing will happen on Wednesday, March 12, just after 11 p.m. ET.
