South Korea’s Constitutional Court could soon rule whether to dismiss or reinstate impeached conservative President Yoon Suk Yeol.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who lawmakers voted to impeach, was released from detention Saturday after spending nearly two months in custody under a criminal probe for his martial law declaration.

As the South Korean Constitutional Court’s impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk Yeol heads toward its finish, a second trial has opened at the Seoul District Court, in which the president is charged with the crime of insurrection.
