Police in Oakland have launched a kidnapping investigation after video captured a woman being dragged into a vehicle near an East Oakland school Tuesday afternoon.

The woman, who police said is between 20 and 22 years old, was walking in the 1800 block of 98th Avenue about 3:30 p.m., when a person tried to hit her with a car, according to a statement from Oakland police. That person next got out of the car, punched the woman several times and forcefully grabbed and forced her into it, police said.
