France has cited Ireland’s Tadhg Beirne and Andrew Porter for their alleged roles in the serious-looking knee injury to Antoine Dupont in their crunch Six Nations match.

Antoine Dupont has revealed that he ruptured his “cruciate ligaments” during France’s Six Nations win over Ireland, with the scrum half facing a long lay-off. Dupont was carried off after half-an-hour in Dublin after an incident at a ruck involving Ireland’s Tadhg Beirne and Andrew Porter.

France head coach Fabien Galthie has branded the incident which injured Antoine Dupont as "reprehensible" amid reports his captain faces nine months on the sidelines. Les Bleus captain Dupont - widely-regarded as the world's best player - is suspected to have suffered serious knee damage after being hurt during a ruck clearout involving Ireland pair Tadhg Beirne and Andrew Porter.
