More than 30 casualties have been brought ashore after an oil tanker collided with a cargo vessel in the North Sea, causing a “massive fireball”. The condition of those injured remains unclear with lifeguards and a coastguard helicopter scrambling to the scene following reports that a “number of people” had abandoned both ships.

The captain arrested in a crash into a U.S.-flagged tanker off the coast of England is a Russian national, the owner of the vessel said.
