People all across the country planned to tune in to the 97th Academy Awards ceremony Sunday, but some viewers were left frustrated when trying to watch the live event on Hulu.

Ariana Grande floated onto the 97th Academy Awards red carpet wearing a custom Schiaparelli gown in her signature Glinda-inspired pink. But instead of just turning heads, the gorgeous, sculptural look had fans scratching their heads: How the hell is she going to sit in that?

There was plenty to take in, including a “Wicked” opener, Conan O’Brien gags, and memorable speeches both good and bad. And people watching on Hulu saw almost all of it.

The Academy Awards opened with a spotlight shining on Grande standing alone in a sparkling red dress reminiscent of Dorothy’s ruby slippers in 1939’s “The Wizard of Oz.” Fittingly, Grande sang a breathtaking version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” She also joined Erivo for the brief duet for “Defying Gravity.”
