After moving on from Joey Bosa, the Los Angeles Chargers need a new edge rusher. The player who has led the NFL in sacks the last two seasons is on the trade block and the Chargers could make a call to inquire about a deal.

In need of an edge rusher, one NFL analyst feels the Los Angeles Chargers could be in the running for this All-Pro defensive difference maker.

Ben Standig of The Athletic says the Commanders are interested in Mack, and the Chargers want to keep him, too. Despite his age, Mack is expected to receive a strong financial package, with PFF projecting a two-year pact worth $22.5 million annually with $40 million guaranteed.

GM Joe Horitz and the Chargers have a dilemma on their hands with Khalil Mack becoming a free agent this offseason.

Despite the decreased output from the future Hall of Famer, both parties have remained in contact, and Los Angeles is hopeful that the two sides can come to terms. General manager Joe Hortiz believes that Mack may just want to explore free agency since he’s never had the chance in his career that spans over a decade.
