The Minecraft community continues to impress well over a decade following the monumental arrival of Mojang's sandbox gem – most recently, with a hilarious mod that pulls Jack Black's voice from the upcoming Minecraft movie and gives it to player character Steve.

As the upcoming Minecraft film creeps closer, one modder has found a creative way to blur the lines between film and game. By adding Jack Black's voice to Minecraft, players can now feel even closer to the one who calls himself Steve (via GamesRadar ).

Between playing Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and voicing Claptrap in Borderlands, Jack Black just keeps racking up video game movie roles. Next month, Black will add another one to his resume when he plays Steve in A Minecraft Movie. Now, a Minecraft modder has added Black's voice to the game that spawned the film.

The idea for the mod, like many works of art, started from someone making a joke online. With how many trailers for the Minecraft Movie we've gotten, Jack Black's version of Steve has said the names of many commonly-used items. This formulated a devious plot.
