Slay ultimately won't be given that chance as the Eagles elected to move on from the six-time Pro Bowler. Much of that decision can likely be attributed to the quick development of cornerbacks, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, who made Slay a luxury the team couldn't afford.

Outside of an outlier Super Bowl title season, the Eagles failed to find quality cornerbacks they could trust to cover top receivers in the league. Stars like Byron Maxwell and Nnamdi Asomugha were overpaid to fix those problems - and all of them failed spectacularly.
