The Chicago Bears might not be the only threat to take Khalil Mack from the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency, after all. Those Bears suddenly seem like a big threat, but other teams in the NFC could have something to say about the Windy City reunion.
Ben Standig of The Athletic says the Commanders are interested in Mack, and the Chargers want to keep him, too. Despite his age, Mack is expected to receive a strong financial package, with PFF projecting a two-year pact worth $22.5 million annually with $40 million guaranteed.
Mack is coming off of a down season in 2024. He totaled 39 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and nine defended passes in 16 games. Back in 2023, however, Mack dominated. In 17 games, he racked up 74 tackles, 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and 10 defended passes.
