The Rangers pulled even in points with the Detroit Red Wings (66) after their second consecutive 4-0 shutout win on home ice, this time against the New York Islanders on Monday, 24 hours after blanking the Nashville Predators.

Last night, the New York Rangers faced off against the New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden in a rivalry matchup with playoff implications. Heading into the game, the Rangers trailed the Detroit Red Wings by two points in the race for the second wild card spot.
