The Come Back Inn opened in 1960 in downtown Melrose Park, Il. The bar and restaurant featured a 13-foot stuffed snow-white Alaskan bear in a glass dome near the entrance and a 1,800 pound Yukon bull moose wedged in the walls of the brick fireplace.

Mar 20, 2022 · The Come Back Inn was in Melrose Park, at 1913 W. Lake St. It was modeled after an Alaskan hunting lodge and was owned and operated by the family of a very dear friend of mine, (the late) Jamie Cortino. The fireplaces were so warm and relaxing. They served the best Klondike burgers. There was a huge Kodiak bear in a cage overlooking the patio.
