The Holmenkollen chapel was built in 1996 after the original 1903 chapel burned down in 1992. The 1903 chapel was designed by Holger Sinding-Larsen. The present chapel was designed by Arne Sødal to resemble as much as possible the old one, which was inspired by the architecture of Stave churches.
