From Milton Keynes, the canal is planned to pass beneath the M1 utilising an existing cattle creep, then cross over Brogborough Hill, and across the Marston Vale through to the River Great Ouse in Kempston.

The canal is a mixed fishery and can throw up a few surprises, it has produced carp to 37lb which held the Milton Keynes Angling Association for a number of years , it has also produced eels to 9lb and catfish to 30lb.

No cars for the next 12 or so miles, just the glistening canal to guide you to Leighton Buzzard. Following the Redway through Campbell park you find yourself immersed in greenery as you pass the cricket field, ready to approach the Grand Union Canal.

From Stoke Bruerne locks the canal winds its way through delightful countryside, crossing the iron trough aqueduct at Cosgrove to Milton Keynes, a new town with canalside parks and floodlit church. South of Milton Keynes is the famous canalside Globe Inn near to the market town of Leighton Buzzard.
