Jun 7, 2024 · This three-day weekend is set to spark some excitement among Special Olympics Illinois athletes, Unified partners, coaches, volunteers, and families alike. While you’re preparing for all the sports competition, don’t forget to add these “can’t miss” activities to the list.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Those activities give them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.

Summer Games is a three-day event held June 7-9 2024 in Bloomington-Normal. Summer Games includes more than 3,000 athletes, 1,000 coaches, and approximately 43 Unified partners.

During Summer Games, screenings and exams will be offered to Special Olympics Illinois athletes at CEFCU (Redbird) Arena on Friday, 12-4PM, and Saturday, 9AM-4PM, promoting overall well-being and offering valuable training to clinicians.
