Beetle Armor has either more defense or more offense than Solar Flare depending on the chest piece, but Solar Flare has a middle ground between the two Beetle Armors. If aiming for damage, Beetle Armor with the Scale Mail is best.

May 24, 2020 · The 21% magic damage on meteor armor is better than jungle's 12% critical chance. The mana bonuses on jungle armor aren't very significant when prehardmode magic weapons don't consume a lot of mana anyways, and the mana regen potion is there when you do run out. Still not as good as the wizard set though.

Feb 14, 2025 · Shadow armor is a major bonus for ranger Skeletron, though, it's a far better armor set than crimson armor, trading 0.1 HP/s or so for better damage and a Magiluminescence on steroids. Ranger gets to use Shadow armor here more easily than mage or summoner, which have to give up mana support or in summoner's case any non-defense stat.

Aug 22, 2021 · Fiery Greatsword is the best sword you can get until you beat Skeletron (the best pre-hardmode being Night’s Edge but you need the Muramasa from the Dungeon) also go for the Molten Armour because that’s the best pre hardmode armour. Also I recommend the Thorn Chakram (made from stingers and jungle spores) so you can attack from futher away.
