Here in Chicago, the average price for 550 sq ft studio size condo with a view of your next door brick wall in a decent neighborhood is close to $200,000 and that's probably just a closet space in an average Houston house. You guys are right.

Sep 2, 2013 · Chicago and San Francisco have very established urban areas and you're sort of being part of an established urban framework. Whereas in Texas, you can be more freewheeling, and people want to just celebrate it a little more. The buildings in Chicago have a lot of civility, where in Texas… it's hard to say exactly what's different.

Jun 25, 2024 · Population dynamics are a curious thing. The Census bureau reported Chicago experienced a rebound in growth, too. I noticed that it was around the same as the number of people our Governor Abbott shipped up there. So Chicago gets more federal dollars because of its population increase, and Texas gets the bill for making it happen.

Houston was less than 150K. Comparing investments in recreation between a 3M city and a150k city is leagues apart considering the differences.

May 9, 2007 · Well, they did have other kinds of dogs at Big Frank's besides the Chicago style ones - IIRC, there was a "Texas-style" one with chili and cheese. I've never been too fond of the Chicago-style dogs myself, but I used to eat at both the Kirby and the Montrose locations of Big Frank's semi-regularly, and they made a pretty good hot dog.

Feb 12, 2015 · I saw some photos of the skylines of NYC and Chicago taken 30-40 miles away, and it got me to wondering how far away from downtown you have viewed Houston's skyline. The furthest point north from which I've been able to make out Houston's skyline is I-45 at Cypresswood, which is about 20 miles from downtown.
